My log updates every 5 seconds or so (adjustable) with line stats etc. Is there anyway I can log these stats on an ongoing basis? Not to be confused with the connection logs.

Not sure you can do that hence me looking for another program, the recommended one was excellent.
The standard Netgear method for me is to go in to router status and then *show statistics* but as I said it updates every so many seconds and overwrites the previous entry, so no real log.

Sounds like you need the *lite* version of routerstats, the url is in previous message.

Probably not. I ditched netgrear as an option because it doesn't talk snmp..

Probably - I run the non-lite version using Wine. A few minor problems if you minimise, but otherwise, no problems.

Doesn't on any of the ones I have access to..
Cant even telnet into em.

mrtg will do nearly everything you might want, once you know the MIB layout of the router, and if you want instant stats, and have apache and basic scripting you can use snmp to interrogate and make up a web page for almost anything you can read via snmp.
But I would dearly love to know which netgear you have. None of the ones I have access support snmp, telnet or anything.

I use the lite version under Wine with no problems.

Some variants of the DG834 do support SNMP. My DG834GT does, for example. I think only the v4 version of the plain DG834 does.

Not found in /usr/sbin on the ones I have access to..:-(
