Sounds like the military needs to re-think and re-build then. I doubt that

Like I said, I feel sorry for Obama who has inherited this mess and has to
make some decisions which, of course, will not be popular with many, no
matter what he decides.

I think the past experience of other countries that have tried to make
Afghanistan over tells us one thing: get out. Maybe play a game of
just having troops in the cities where they can bolster the economy,
but clear out of the hinterland. This isn't 19th Century America where
you put all the bad guys on reservations.

Indeed. But, beyond that, he has to address the burning issue of troop
burnout at a time when more is being asked of the Armed Forces. *They* are
the ones fighting the wars, not us who sit comfortably in front of our
computer screens discussing what "should" and "should not" be done while we
get our war experience from newspapers and TV.

I read an account of those who were killed. Five were in the medical
or psychiatric fields. Physicians assistant, Pschiatric nurse, Nurse
practicioner, Physician's assistant, one of the wounded was a Mental
Health spec.

There is a universal tenet in the medical/mental health world. If a person
is engaging in unprofessional conduct, and at the very least an
investigation is not performed, then the powers-that-be are negligent. Do

LaN does a great job of blaming the victim while holding blameless the
PC mindset that makes removing him very difficult. If he had been
removed, the Army would have been blamed for cultural insensitivity
toward muslims. LaN, the real blame lies with people like yourself
who are unable to think clearly about what is relatively "more evil"

If he was, as you say, making unprofessional and violent posts on the
internet, the Army should have questioned his "usefulness". The Army has a
lot to answer for if it comes out in the wash that they were covering up
this man's behaviour and slow meltdown. In Canada, someone like that would
