Subject: 5 British soldiers killed
5 British soldiers were killed in Afghanistan by an Afghani they were
training to be in the local security force.
the "trainee" opened fire killing the 5 and then successfully escaped.
some think its a Taliban infiltration of the force{ya think?}

He also shot some local police as well.

It seems he'd been a cop for about two years and had some sort of
dispute with his local management.

The Taliban have claimed it,  but the various people on the ground are
disputing this.

It's Afghanistan,  stuff like this happens.

What's surprising to me is that the authorities allowed this
concentration of British soldiers to be available as a target to armed
Afghans of uncertain loyalty.

Yes. On the other hand, it beats having them going about by themselves!
More sadly, automatic weapons fire possibly in enclosed space doesn't
leave much time for "response" or evasion.
