I had looked for that but it never lists our model. Also, you've got to
be careful. With many players they won't let you set it to "all" and you
can change the region code only x times, with x << 10. After that the
thing locks up for good and the warranty is toast because they can
extract from flash what you have tried to do. Lots of pitfalls there.

Maybe companies will bring them over by the boatload on H1 Visas.
But that's only one city. If the others are like that, China may be in for
some difficulties with an angry populace on the web.
Of course, anything that happens in China affects us all.

Interesting. Is a PAL MPEG playing with a distorted image or the audio
pitch shifted?
IMHO this whole region business is stupid. It cuts out any
inter-cultural exchange. Our rental place does carry the occasional
foreign language tape or CD but most old movies never make it into the
US. I really like VCR tape a lot, none of this region blocking stuff.

Else I could lose my shirt, literally. You can contractually exclude the
consequences of honest mistakes and I always do (or decline the request)
but the millisecond something can be construed as grossly negligent for
a person skilled in the art you are doomed.
On the lab bench or for hobby there is (usually) nothing wrong with that.

With all the added capacitance to the elements, I have little doubt that
there would be lots of resonance's, and it would be cool to choose the
geometry to bring about the proper feed point impedances, but these things
can never be gainful with all the losses introduced.

centralized many agencies under one cabinet position, making it a grab
for political power. It effectively redirected many agencies efforts

We're seeing a small flurry of orders by people who are harassing us
to ship before the end of the year; our standard quote is 45 days ARO.
This is unusual, especially as, traditionally, nothing much gets done
this time of year. Rush orders from national labs, near the end of the
federal fiscal year, are common, but this is new for non-gov purchases
