I met up with Kevin Aylward at my local music venue on Saturday. He's the guy who effectively took my place when I first left Studiomaster (pro-sound company) and does the Anasoft simulation software.
Had so much to chat about, we're going to have to meet up several more times just to cover the basics I think !
Anyway the venue closes late ( 2 pm ) and Kevin left about midnight.
So I went to my favourite place where you can see the band (good band btw) quite well without being deafened plus it's handy for the bar and a little while later, this cute blonde pushed in next to me to order a drink.
Next thing I know, she made an offhand comment to me (girls do this - it's their technique) and next thing we're chatting away nineteen to the dozen.
Now, it was easy to tell she was quite young, but I wasn't expecting as young as 23 ! (sort of been there before and really wasn't sure what to do about nearly a decade ago). I don't think she was expecting me to be 54 either (she had me lined up as 40 something).
And the longer we were chatting, the more I realised she was absolutely lovely ! Great looks, nice personality.
Mind you she was a bit ! drunk - but that's what let's your inhibitions go.
Later she had to go for a wee and I suspect her friends picked her up and got her home.
Now, she's told me where she works, and it's dead easy to go there. She's a manager at a clothes shop that does both guys and gals clothing. She called it the 'IKEA' of clothing and was wearing some herself and it looked damn good to me.
Funny thing is..... I haven't been able to stop thinking of her since. She has great taste in music and you know sometimes how you just 'click' with someone. It can be almost instantaneous.
I have to say, it's raised my spirits a lot but what do you think of the 31 year age gap ?

The GAP is where you get cheap genes (oops..jeans) for a lot of money.

Too bad you didn't take her home. It might have been amusing to see the look of horror slowly spread across her face the next morning as she awakened in the harsh morning light and realized what she had done. ;-)
Well, it's six years less age difference than Rupert Murdoch and his wife Wendi, so there is concrete evidence that it can work in some specialized circumstances.

I still can't get her out of my mind. Now several women have had quite an influence on me over the last few years but this is something else.
I'll be visiting that shop soon. That'll tell if it was an awful mistake on her part or not. Mind you, the things girls do these days ...... I could give you a list. They're not shy like they used to me.

Well, she is a bit old for you, but stop by the shop and see what she says once she's sober! If she acts disgusted, then leave. If she acts interested carry on.
BTW, I'm older than you are, and I get this too... Men may not live nearly as long as women, but for some reason we can get lot's of interest if we keep ourselves in reasonable shape! <bg> (Yea, I bike too...)

Well... actually come to think of it maybe some of them never were. When I was 15, I had a 12 y.o. ask if she could stay the night. And she was utterly gorgeous too. Very physically mature for her age but you could still see the elements of the 12 y.o. in her. She was one of my best friends at the time and had a heart of gold.

The age difference will only really matter some time in the future. Until then don't worry about it too much. There is no reason you can't be friends.

That's what I was I was thinking too after a fashion. She's a cute lass. Thanks for your advice.

Don't show up at the "IKEA" too soon, you'll look rather desperate and you may scare her away. Instead, go back to the bar and pick up where you left off. If after a couple of weeks she doesn't turn up, take the desperate route.
