That would be the first classified as ambient. In fact Eno created the term.

XM/Sirius has a channel called "BPM" that I listened to on an AirTran flight from ATL to MCI. 90 mins., three songs. Very nice.
(And I didn't paw any FAs, nor break down any doors. I flew Business Class. Please.)

Yes, Eno was a pioneer in this music. He didn't like the "MUZAK" that was normally in airpports, elevators, etc. so he came up with this.

Once you start actually listening to the music, doesn't it cease to be "ambient"?

I see your point. I tried listeing to House music once but it sounded nothing like Hugh Laurie.

I listen to this http://somafm.com/play/groovesalad almost exclusively. Not sure if its what you are referring to. A friend of mine recently told me its called shoegazer music because the musicians have so many pedals they are always watching their feet. ---------------------------------------------------- Not sure what the classification is, but sounds cool though, thanks for sharing.

No, shoegazer come from how people dance to the music... more so looking at their feet and shuffling....and ambient really isnt quite the same as shoegazer...
Mookie who loves shoegazer, but thinks ambient is only good for dope smoking and makin babies..
