First, Michigan. Tate forcier is horrible. He doesn't have the ability to run rich rod's offense. That much is clear. He's a tough kid, a fighter, blah blah blah.......but a bigtime div1a qb he isn't. Just throw robinson in there(at least he can run) and if richrod has *any* hope of saving his job he better hope the next pat white is great and ready to start at UM next year. But honestly, this team (while admittedly lacking talent) just looks poorly coached......an abortion of a season last year. An abortion of a season this year(1 bigten win to this point). I mean really, give me a reason richrod should keep his job.
Now georgia. This team is going to be really good next year, but they arent quite there yet this year. Aaron murray is supposedly throwing bullets in practice and will certainly take over next year. AJ is back. And we lose all the horrid defensive players(hello prince miller) and keep the promising freshman and sophmores. Oh and did I mention the best player in all of cf is back? This season has been dissapointing yes, but we'll still beat georgiatech and we will be top 10 again as usual next year.
Now USC. Im worried about the qb position. We have a couple of decent wideouts and barkley looks like he has time to throw most plays. So whats the problem? Hopefully we win out and go to a bcs game, but a dissapointing season. But if we dont get better qb play, we wont go unbeaten next year. And wtf is up with that defense? I know they are young, but still......

Other than the UW game, QB play has not been the problem with the Trojans in 2009.

Yes, but most reasonable people who looked at the lack of senior leadership on both sides of the ball at the beginning of this season knew that this was a rebuilding year. I, OTOH, having drank the Kool Aid year after year, was still hopeful that this team would over- perform against this STUPID 6 road games in the first 9 games of the season (RSFCK!). They had early on, but they are very injured at this point in the season. Hell, 'SC started a safety (Shane Horton) who is 6'1" and 210 lbs at linebacker against Oregon -- it's been THAT bad.
> But if we dont get better qb play, > we wont go unbeaten next year.
The offense will have to carry them the rest of the way, but the QB play of Barkley has been damn good and WAY better than I ever expected from him as a true freshman.
> And wtf is up with that defense? I > know they are young, but still......
They are young and thin at linebacker and the defensive line. 'SC has a senior-laden secondary, but for whatever reason, Carroll has them playing soft in a Tampa/Cover 2 zone defense in order to keep the offensive big plays to a minimum. This has worked for 'SC pretty well over the past couple of seasons, because the talent gap was so wide. However, as I said, they are young and injured at LB and the DL, and Carroll is going to have to change it up some if they want to stop the bleeding now. In fact, he's already stated that he is going to do just that after the Oregon snotfucking:
----------------------- USC's Pete Carroll to throw out defensive plan
The Trojans head coach says he and his staff erred against Oregon by restricting the defense with a complicated scheme that caused less- seasoned players to play too cautiously. -----------------------

nonsense....programs like usc and texas and florida don't "rebuild".....
that's just code for "yeah we arent too good this year"......

what about all the top 100 recruits just sitting around the last couple years? WTF are they?

Im not impressed....horrid against ohio state until the final drive (when really mcknight did most of the work) and couldnt keep pace with oregon on saturday......

why though? thats my question......I mean we've had a top 3 recruiting class now for what.....6 straight years? I mean jesus....people should be there to not allow what happened on saturday happen......

Sure, they do.

Some play and some don't pan out for whatever reason. Frankie Telfort was recruited out of Florida, but it turns out that he has a heart condition the prevents him from playing. He now has a nice 4-year scholarship at 'SC to get a degree.

Do *NOT* try to take that final drive at the 'Shoe away from Barkley. McKnight and Johnson accounted for 35 yards rushing on an 86 yard drive. The rest were Barkley passes and quarterback sneaks. Barkley converted a 4th-and-1 and a 3rd-and-2 with his legs, plus a 3rd-and-8 and a 3rd-and-9 with his arm. Oh, BTW, he did all that in what is one of the top-5 difficult environments in CFB to play with an injured shoulder in his first-career start. I thought that his performance was incredible. McKnight and Johnson deserve plenty of credit, but Barkley, McCoy and the offensive line are right there with them.

Injuries and slower-than-expected player development. Also, playing Taylor Mays off the LOS about 30 yards each and every play is dumb.

what about the two passes(short passes) mcknight caught and then ran with, eluding people.....
no I agree it was a good drive, and barkley was good.....but that one drive doesnt doscount how bad he was the rest of the game....

mays is being criticized too much imo. Is he a great player? Hell no. Is he eric berry? Not even in the same universe? Does he have poor instincts? Sure.
That said, he's still an above average college football player.
The thing with mays is *everyone* is in agreement that he doesnt have eric berry type talent, so how can he be overrated if nobody thinks he is eric berry?
off the LOS about 30 yards each and every play is dumb.

Tech looks very good right now, and I will be very surprised if Georgia beats them.
UGA, on the other hand, has really written off the season, similar to Tennessee last year. They looked awful against Florida last week, probably worse overall than Kentucky's performance against the Gators. I think it reflects poorly on the team and the coaching staff that once they fail to compete for the SEC title they just begin to phone it in. This whole "wait until next year" mindset has to be galling to the Bulldog faithful.

This is perfect opportunity to practice, adjust, and maybe surprise some teams.

Just curious, what's your take on Pryor, another highly rated QB out of high school? Seems he, like Forcier struggle to make the correct decisions on option plays. Forcier seems to be a better passer mechanically than Pryor. Seems Pryor's long ball is lofted way up their like a punt (chuck it and hope the receiver catches up to it before the defender).
