I find it interesting that a cheap shot artist like Ward is considered "dirty". Back in the Conrad Dobler days it was the guy who stepped on your fingers or punched you in the adam's apple.

This is unpossible. I have it on good (as in good and loud) authority that only Ravens fans feel that Hines Ward is a dirty player, and those only because they're jealous of the Steelers. Surely there can't be that many Ravens fans playing in the National Football League?

Not really; I'd be far more satisfied if he (Ward) would simply stop playing like such a coward. It is amusing, though, to definitively shut Jaybird et. al. up regarding Ward's cheap-shot nonsense.

I just don't think those are cheap shots. Those are legal hits. Cheap shots to me is what Brandon Spikes did last week.

...then you haven't seen some of his truly vile hits. I don't say it lightly when I point out that I would be quite happy to see his career ended via injury. Hines Ward is a despicable coward with no place in honest competition between sportsmen.

I've seen a lot of them. They are violent and unexpected...they generally aren't dirty.

I still you still continue to delude yourself when it comes to Hines Ward.

What are you shutting up? I've only said that you are obsessed with all this because you're jealous of the steelers continuous overshadowing of the ravens, which of course is still the case. You are also hypocritical in your support of true thugs like Ray Lewis.

It's not just Ward. It's the whole steeler-jealousy thaing with slick. I understand though, I hate the yankees but as a pirate fan it's clear why!

Not a Stillers fan, but if I'm a GM or HC, but give me a locker room full of players with his attitude, and we'll beat people. Saw Cortland Finnegan of the Titans high on the list. Near the top of my favorite players in the NFL. Small college, attitude, and will bygawdhitchee!
All time favorite hitter - Cliff Harris, Dallas Cowboys. Charlie Waters said he would have had many more career picks if he hadn't had to be looking over his shoulder for #43.

And another thing - if you notice, most of the people on the list are defensive players who make tackles and hits. And the offensive dudes are all linemen who are probably on the list because they try chop blocks or whatever.
Ward is the only "skill" position player on the list - and that pretty much explains why he's on the list. All of the macho defense types like the Ray Lewis' of the world can't get reconciled to teh fact that there's an offensive player who can block and hit as well as them! Pussies...

Undeniable. Ward's physicality and nasty attitude are front and center. Opposing defensive players LOOK for opportunities to unload on him, but rarely get the chance., The fact that his peers voted him "dirtiest" tells you that he's under their skin, right where he wants to be.

never been the case? We only need to look at last year's AFC championship and 6th superbowl victory as a recent example. Plus your obsession with the refs "giving" the steelers superbowls. Yoi!

No, that's yet more dishonest attempts at deflection from you.

Who's deflecting? Are you truly saying that the Steelers have not overshadowed the Ravens historically? Show me the ways!
I know that the Ravens colors are purple or whatever but yours are definately GREEN.
"WHaaaa The steelers are so good and piss me off so I'll say its the refs and hines ward is a bad guy (while I cheer for the stalwart guys like Ray Lewis)"

You are. My comments about Ward have nothing to do with the uniform he wears and everything to do with the scumbag who occupies it.
