Just when you think that youve been gypped ..the bearded lady comes and does a double back flip!!! John Hiatt in "Buffalo River Home"
First of all .. I should have mentioned that I had heard the name and assumed he was Middle Eastern descent.
From IMikes post screaming about Muslims who kill their daughters to things like this , people like IMike and other right wing "hate mongers" have and will continue to push the edges of these things around to suit their needs.
It is 100 pct inevitable that people on both sides will say some stupid shit about this tragedy .
I simply believe that the righties will distort the facts and reshape this firstly and mostly !!
That shouldnt offend anyone .
Unless of course , you know that I am correct and are angered about me saying so .
You have always told me that you are not a "righty" , yet every time I post anything denouncing the right for some of their silly shit .. you seem offended .

Because if you posted this stupid shit about lefties I would react that same way.
Until you learn not to label everyone, I will continue to do so.

And you have assumed the mantle for those on the left, apparently. You are a natural leader.

Btw, he's a Muslim, always has been, and not a "recent convert" as first reported.
From the reports on this incident, it seems that the shooter has made anti-America policy remarks (in public) with regard to Iraq and Afghanistan in the past.
No one did anything about it because they were afraid of being accused of "politically incorrect" discrimination against this guy. Apparently, there were warning signs as to the personal nature and politics of the shooter, but people around him wanted to avoid being viewed as "profiling" Muslims. Plus, he's an officer, and probably reguarded by the government as an example of their equal treatment of Muslim-Americans.
If they questioned and investigated him, they'd have to question and investigate twelve innocent, little old ladies to make up for it, if you see what I mean.
Now, maybe Doggystyle can tell us whether it's Democrats or Republicans who have created this absurd political atmosphere that inhibits rational approaches to security and safety.

Holy shit! I agree with Travel. Say it isn't so!

What's there to win? How is this a game? Did you see the 7-11 security tape? How can this tragedy be a left versus right thing? You need some medication.

You actually read his posts?
Jerry 'n Vegas
- You mean the South Sandwich Islands aren't Hawaii ????
You don't understand Jerry. This hyper-tolerance us liberals have, this need to watch Muslims murder people rather than offend them, it's so insidious and far reaching, we propagandize school children with it... we've so evilly and thoroughly embedded it into the fabric of society that you can indeed blame liberals for the military's failure to identify dangerous guys within their ranks.

>>> Military and its security is full of liberals?
>>> Ding, ding, ding --- WRONG!

>Damn! And I thought I was a liberal. Now what?
So were you lying when you said you were a Libertarian?

Jerry, why not at least try to use words to mean one thing at a time.
BillB has the same disease. You might both learn that words have many meanings and it is important to be consistent with their use ... at least in the same context.
It may be that politics often brings out the worst in all of us.
George Orwell:
"In our time it is broadly true that political writing is bad writing. Where it is not true, it will generally be found that the writer is some kind of rebel, expressing his private opinions and not a "party line." Orthodoxy, of whatever color, seems to demand a lifeless, imitative style. The political dialects to be found in pamphlets, leading articles, manifestoes, White papers and the speeches of undersecretaries do, of course, vary from party to party, but they are all alike in that one almost never finds in them a fresh, vivid, homemade turn of speech. When one watches some tired hack on the platform mechanically repeating the familiar phrases -- bestial atrocities, iron heel, bloodstained tyranny, free peoples of the world, stand shoulder to shoulder -- one often has a curious feeling that one is not watching a live human being but some kind of dummy: a feeling which suddenly becomes stronger at moments when the light catches the speaker's spectacles and turns them into blank discs which seem to have no eyes behind them. And this is not altogether fanciful. A speaker who uses that kind of phraseology has gone some distance toward turning himself into a machine. The appropriate noises are coming out of his larynx, but his brain is not involved as it would be if he were choosing his words for himself. If the speech he is making is one that he is accustomed to make over and over again, he may be almost unconscious of what he is saying, as one is when one utters the responses in church. And this reduced state of consciousness, if not indispensable, is at any rate favorable to political conformity."
