MREs aren't cheap! I don't buy them but have seen the cost for the
civilian version. But they sure do serve a useful purpose. I have to eat
them when deployed at times, and the jalapeno cheese spread eaten right
out of the packet is the bomb! I'm impressed with the spiciness of them
these days. I do lean towards the vegetarian meals, but MRE Etiquette

I just added a bay leaf :) This is a pretty simple dish and yes! makes
wonderful gravy for the mashed potatoes. My mother stopped making real
mashed potatoes some time in the 70's when instant potato flakes became
popular. I'm making the real thing tonight. There will be enough left over
for mashed potato pancakes tomorrow.

SSDI payments are computed exactly the same as SS, an
amonunt based on previous taxable earnings... and you get the same pct
increase each year... when you reach 65 the SSDI automatically
converts to SS. If $108.50 is all Kili gets for SSDI it's because she
earned very little and/or worked very little, the amount received is

On Mon 06 Oct 2008 10:25:47a, Goomba told us...
I also peel and cube my potatoes before cooking, but I drizzle them with a
50/50 mixture of traditional French dressing and chicken broth while still
hot, stirring occasionally 'til cool, until all is absorbed. Really
improves the flavor of the potatoes. I think this was an old JOC trick.
