I have a 1996 4x4. Someone mentioned I can check ABS codes with the
key switch somehow and also mentiond something about cleaning off an
area on the front wheels that sometimes give a an ABS code. Does
anyone know what I am talking about? I need to change my pads/rotor
and wanted to do this while I had everything apart.

Cleaning the pads where the sensor mounts sometimes cures the "through
the store window low speed non-stop".  This condition rarely sets the
abs fault indicator light.
