It's absolute garbage. NASCAR needn't bother with restrictor plate races
anymore - because it's all restricted racing. The next thing will be race control radio communication with the leader, instructing him to slow down (which is currently camouflaged as mystery cautions). FInding extra speed is what it should all be about (be it driver, driving line, or technology).
