My dreaming included a sentient ("sapient") parrot named Mike Schilling. It seems people with woowoo powers can boost the IQ of certain pets, causing them to develop human-level intelligence. The guy with the parrot (who wasn't me-he had a name but I don't recall it) had a woowoo power for finding things, which he used to hunt out sports memorabilia. Mike the Parrot had a vast knowledge of sports, especially baseball, and the guy used him as a knowledge base kind of like Bob the Skull. This, it seems, was the usual way to make use of a "familiar".

Well, I dreamed the other night that I was involved in some kind of situation --- possibly an FRP MMO??? -- that involved going through repeated portals into different worlds which were all built on different works of SF. Some of which I only vaguely recognized because I hadn't read them, only read about them on this group. F'rinstance, I *think* whoozit's Draka were in there somewhere, and I never read any of that. Some worlds I did recognize were Farmer's Riverworld and de Camp/Pratt's collection of worlds in _The Incomplete Enchanter._ I don't *think* I ran into Holger Carlsen.
Anyway, I dreamed it for what seemed like hours, and woke, and went back to sleep and dreamed it some more. I can remember thinking at some semi-coherent moment, "Wow, you could make a television series out of this, if you could get all the rights."

FWIW, I've never had a dream about Gene (or any other the rest of you,.)

I have, but I was too busy barfing on him to take note of much else about it.

I had a dream that it was Gene who authored the series of recent anonymous trolling attempts that obviously garnered less attention than he hoped for. Oh wait. That wasn't a dream.

A lie. I've authored no anonymous posts of any kind.

Well, it (the off-topic political poster & co) certainly walked like you, it talked like you, and had your user-agent version in the headers. I was pretty sure it was you then, and somehow you managed to jog my memory of those posts again, so blame yourself for all the suspicion you get.
