A new low point for Marvel and Bendis

Mighty Avengers #18 was a particular low point for both Marvel and
Bendis. Nick Fury tortures a friend to make sure she won't spill the
beans? (I'm guessing she's a friend, but it never really makes her
identity clear) Total rip off of "V is for Vendetta" or an attempt to
make Fury Marvel's Jack Bauer. Pathetic.

Not really, a comic is a product, so you can trademark the name. A character
isn't in and of itself a product, thus it's covered by copyright law.
Trademarks and copyright are different things.
