ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—A few kilometers to the north of the Indian city of Dharamshala, hundreds of Tibetan women and men are being trained in 'self defense' by the special operations division of RAW, the Indian intelligence service. Tibetan students who join get extra marks at Indian public schools as an incentive. New Delhi's declared policy is to peacefully settle disputes with Beijing. But India has a secret policy toward China. Read this exclusive report on 'Operation Ashes and Snow'.   BY MAKHDOOM BABAR SULTAN

Some Pakistani Pride

ISLAMABAD, PakistanSomeone in the Pakistani government should have snubbed Karzai's foreign minister when he was in our capital while his forces killed Pakistani soldiers on the border.  Here is an irony: Two diplomats – our U.N. envoy Munir Akram and our foreign secretary Riaz Khan – known for jealously guarding Pakistani interests, are shown the door, while a longtime Pakistan-basher, Mr. Husain Haqqani, is rewarded by becoming our envoy in Washington.  And now efforts are underway to release an Indian terrorist from jail.  We need to learn what pride is. Learn it from a retarded, tongue-less Maqbul Hussian.     BY AHMED QURAISHI

No Government In Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, PakistanSo, basically, the elections have not benefited the nation. Political parties and their leaders are behaving like cutthroat gangsters haggling over political turf and power. There is no real government in the Pakistani federal capital.  The relationship between the ruling coalition partners is marked by treachery and distrust.  The talks between Zardari and NS are a seesaw of political negotiations based on distrust and skepticism. They both hate each other but Zardari hates the deposed Chief Justice more and under no circumstances is willing to risk bringing the man to power with full authority and mandate. President Musharraf has also shown his teeth through a calculated leak to the press that he might use his powers to dissolve the assemblies if he feels the house plans to move against him.  BY ZAID HAMID
