Hey folks,
I'm happy to announce that we've made some improvements to Google
Calendar that you can see in action right now. A quick rundown of
what's new:
* For those of you who have wanted to transfer an event to another
user, you're in luck -- check out these instructions for transferring
ownership of individual events: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=117190
* Trying to remember the cross street for the restaurant you're
scheduled to go to for dinner is on? Now when there's a 'Where' listed
in the event that is recognized as an address, an embedded Google Map
will appear in the event details page.
* Familiar with the red 'Current Time' line? Maybe not, since some of
you said it was hard to see. We made it thicker and added a pointer to
the time bar on the left, so now it's easier to tell where you are in
your lineup of events.
* Have events with just one other guest? Now you can see who you're
meeting with directly in the event chip title. For instance, what used
to be 'Dinner' with Andre as the lone guest now becomes 'Dinner
(Andre)' :)
* For anyone who's using the Google Calendar gadget (iGoogle and
Gmail), you'll notice several improvements we've made, including an
enhanced options menu, the option to see past events, and a 'today'
highlight.
Also, we've been listening to you guys, and have rolled out a couple
fixes for issues you let us know about. For anyone having issues
viewing multi-line text comments, your days of cutoff comments are
over. Also, for those of you who found some strange behavior in IE7
when responding to notifications, we've included a fix for that issue
as well.
Thanks for everyone's diligence in reporting their issues and sharing
their experiences with the group. Enjoy the new features, and remember
-- we're always listening, and your feedback helps us improve Google
Calendar.
Cheers,
Charlie
