This is an important document we have been waiting for, and it is
requested that all of us play our role in its refinement.
We had discussed that this document should not be another file in the
government offices. Rather we shall like to see it as a practical
document for some one ,who wants to do some thing.
While reviewing kindly keep in mind if it conforms to
Our understanding of the drinking water policy document is an action
guide for someone who wants to do something for improving drinking
water situation vis-à-vis quality and quantity. Right now the
President and The PM of Pakistan are( read were) bent on doing
something about it.
We feel the policy document.
1. Should be brief
2. Should be practical. (Not asking for the moon)
3. Should provide for immediate relief and long term solution.
4. Should be able to start all initiatives at the same time.
5. Should be making maximum use of existing human, physical and
legislatory provisions.
6. Should provide inter linkages to the existing National and
international commitments like Water policy, Health policy,
Environment policy, Millennium Development Goals (MDG), and Poverty
Reduction Strategy (PRSP).
Please send your comments to Javed Ali Khan Sahib also, as proposed .

Dear M. Jahangir
Thanking you for the circulation. I would like to know whether I am
required to send my earlier submitted comments to your kindness once
again to this mentioned link or whether that had been taken care of.
Thanking you

Thanks for the response, I am afraid it has to be done again for
ewo reasons
1. This time it is for the draft policy, not standards
2. This has to reach a differant destination

Dear Jahangir Sahib
AOA
Thanking you for the reply and I would like to send you as well as to
the other end my comments on the policy matter. However I would like
to know whether my suggestions on the subject of the water quality
standards had been sent to the proper end user or not because, as I
understand, I worked on the subject under similar understanding with
your kindness to take care of the subject matter further. Please
excuse me or the misunderstanding in case it has been on my side.
Regards
Dr. Din Mohammad (DM)
