a bit OT: radical islam by prof. zylstra
for anyone that would like to read about the study of radical islam by a man that lived for four years under nazi occupation and later came to america. he performed military duty courageously and is a professor that i both know and respect. if a few sentences don't meet, please forgive me; i nearly had a fist-fight with my scanner and have decided that i definitely need a new one.

Understanding Radical Islam Professor Clarence Zylstra, MA Logos Presentation October 27, 2008

Before I begin this evening, allow me to say that the topic of Radical Islam can be viewed as controversial and frightening to some. Nothing that I present is my opinion, all content is gleaned from published sources and can be verified upon request.   Radical Islam is a dangerous ideology fueled by religious hatred.   It is a radical worldview, and threatens all peoples, Muslim and non-Muslim alike. We must always remember that most Muslims are peaceful and do not support terror.
I.     A Short History of Islam
Let us explore the precursors to the current radical Islam movement. We must begin with the founding of Islam. No biography of Muhammad was written until about 100 years after his death, and one finds true accounts and fiction intertwined. There are, however, a number of facts that historians agree upon.   The Prophet Muhammad founded Islam in the 7th century, on the Arabian Peninsula. Islam means submission.    "There is but one God, and Muhammad is his Prophet", this is the fundamental truth of Islam. He had a diverse knowledge of various religions and cultures due to his marriage to a merchant's widow, and their travels with caravans. He was a man, and he never professed otherwise. Muhammad was troubled by the injustices of the society in which he lived. In 610 he was visited by the angel Gabriel, who said, "Oh Muhammad, you are the messenger of God, and I am Gabriel."   He had immediate support from his wife, but growing opposition in Mecca. So, in 622 with some 200 followers he moved to Yathrib ( Medina).   This is the year 1 in the Islamic calendar.
Muhammad died June 8, 632. After some confusion, his father-in-law Abu Baker succeeded him.   He subjugated most of Arabia to Muslim rule within a few years. This was followed by an expedition into Syria and Iraq; much of this area was controlled by the Byzantine Empire.   This empire and Persia had been fighting each other for some 200 years, and both were weakened. Omar, who is considered the second founder of Islam, succeeded Abu Baker.   He took the title "amiral-mir" (commander of the faithful.)
Islamic expansion continued. In 644 Omar was assassinated by a Persian slave. The council chose as successor Othman from the powerful Umayyad family.   The natural successor was Ali, first cousin of the Prophet and the husband of Fatima, a daughter of the Prophet.
This led to a great schism in Islam, resulting in the Shia and Sunni split.

For 800 years after it's founding, Islam expanded to control a major portion of the world, including the Middle East and parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia.    Even though Islam's heartland is in the Middle East, only a portion of the global Muslim population is Arab. In fact, the largest Muslim country in the world is Indonesia. In addition, many of the people of the Middle East are not Muslim. Some countries, such as Syria and Lebanon, have traditional Christian populations. And, of course, Israel is primarily Jewish. Just like Christians, Muslims now live in all the world's regions; being shaped by their new cultures and influencing those cultures right back.
For nearly 1000 years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad, Islam accompanied political ascendancy and military expansion throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and into the heart of Europe. This was the Golden Age of Islam, while Europe was just coming out of the Dark Ages.   Cordoba   was the most splendid city of Europe with 70 libraries, and 900 public baths.   The Pyrenees were crossed and in 732 the Muslims were defeated by Charles Martel and driven back. ( Just imagine if Charles Martel had not stopped the Muslims advance; all of Europe, and possibly all of us today would be Muslim !)   With the halt to the Muslim expansion, Islam entered its Dark Age. During this time Europe was moving toward the Renaissance. About 1300, Islam started a revival and expansion phase; coming across the Dardanelles.    In 1365 Adrianople was captured, and from then on for a century, Islam expanded into the Balkans.   By early 1400 the Byzantine Empire was reduced to its capital. In June 1452 the final siege of Constantinople began.     In 1683 an Islamic army was defeated by a Polish army at the gates of Vienna.   With this defeat, the nations of Europe turned the tide of Muslim expansion, a process that eventually culminated in the collapse of the Ottoman Empire in the twentieth century.
II.     Understanding Modern Militant Islam

A. Retribution
For nearly 1000 years during the Middle Ages, Islam was the religion of a dynamic and growing world empire.      Its followers controlled the entire region from (southern'Spain, throughout North Africa and the Middle East, into southeast Europe.    For much of the 20th century, the traditional centers of Islamic power in the Middle East were ruled by Western nations.   When they achieved autonomy, the first governments were frequently handpicked and installed by Western leaders. Under foreign leadership and in their early years of sovereignty, many countries in the Middle East were poorly managed, with rampant corruption and vastly unequal distributions of wealth.    Living conditions for most people deteriorated far below levels in the rest of the world and the former glory of Islam seemed very distant. Radical Islam ideology seeks to rectify this situation, to raise the quality of life for Muslims in accordance with Islamic laws and to punish those nations that have robbed Islam of its past successes.
Of course, many Islamic nations were victimized by poor leadership and exploitive policies, but the current conditions of the Middle East and many developing nations worldwide result from a complex network of causes that cannot be attributed directly to a single factor.
To this day, Islamic cultures, with their emphasis on historical awareness, nurture memories of Islam's past glories. These memories are often difficult to reconcile with the realities of the twentieth century that placed many traditional Muslim lands and ancient Islamic peoples under official Western mandate or de facto economic influence.
Beginning in the mid-twentieth century, movements appeared within the Muslim community dedicated to reasserting Islam's past greatness, often using the rhetoric or tactics of revolutionary Marxist theory. Most experts agree that the 1928 founding of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood by Hassan al-Banna was the first modern movement of political Islam designed to defeat Western imperialism and secularism. During the Cold War Arabs and other Muslims learned to manipulate and profit from western rivalries.   When the era of outside domination ended in the Middle East, older, deeper trends in their history that had been submerged, returned with a vengeance.   Many radical Islamists have come to believe their culture's decline over past centuries has accompanied a greater accommodation with Western values and behaviors.   In the west the worldview is framed by Democracy
and the separation of church and state. In the MidEast, they have a worldview of theocracy and the religious state. Therefore, they believe that it is necessary to purify their societies of all things Western in order to strengthen them. The interpretation of Islam expounded by today's radical groups is substantially different than that advanced by the majority of religious teachers and thinkers over the centuries.   For example, in Islam jihad is, above all, a struggle. It can be a struggle against another person, but is more often a struggle against the base elements within oneself, in an effort to achieve greater holiness and become closer to God. When jihad is understood as an armed conflict against other people, religious leaders must authorize it. However, radical Islam promotes a view of jihad as a personal choice that any Muslim can make for himself.   Leaders of the radical movement such as Osama bin Laden may recommend jihad, but traditional standards do not recognize such individuals, without any religious training, as having the authority to make such proclamations. While the different definitions of jihad and religious authority are important, they are only two of the many ways in which Islam has been distorted to support radical beliefs and actions.
A receptive audience is often with Muslims living alone in apartments in Hamburg, Rotterdam, New York, Ottawa. In the past immigrants integrated.    Radical Islam followers seclude themselves and conclude it is their duty to convert the West to Islam.
B. Consolidation and Expansion
As part of the return to Islam's historic political power, Islamic terrorists seek to establish control of the greater Middle East.     They seek to undermine the authority of secular governments in Muslim countries and replace them with regimes founded upon extreme interpretations of sharia, or Islamic law.    Certain realities of contemporary international politics are considered to be threats to their fundamentalist view of Islam.   The presence of Western military forces is a primary cause of outrage and terrorists have launched attacks on American installations in Iraq and elsewhere in an effort to drive the United States and its allies from the region. Numerous attacks in Saudi Arabia and Egypt illustrate the willingness of Islamist terrorists to kill other members of their own religion in their zeal for punishing pro-Western or modern governments. Another objective is the erosion and destruction of local governments that have close ties to the West. And finally, a major element of the Islamist plan for consolidating control over the Middle East is the destruction of Israel, which is viewed as a hated intrusion of religious outsiders
and Western power upon sacred Muslim territory.    Once the entire region has been remade according to radical Islamist principles, the stage will be set for the reestablishment of a caliphate, or multinational Islamic community under a single leader. Such a community would have the demographic and economic resources to become a major world power. This process is not confined to the Middle East, but has begun to spread across the world.    On several continents and in numerous countries, including the United States, an effort is being made to change traditional standards and twist existing political structures to make them more palatable to Islamic fundamentalists and Islamist radicals.
Radical Muslims consider the jihad a sixth pillar of the faith. The Quran in Sura 9:29 commands Muslims to "fight against those who do not believe in Allah..."    This is the position of Wahhabi Islamic interpretation.   Paul Marshall, an expert on global religious intolerance writes in his article:" Islam: from Toleration to Terror":    ' The Saudi restrictions on the expression of any religion besides Islam means, quite simply, that Christian worship is banned. It's illegal to wear a cross or to utter a Christian prayer. Christians cannot even worship privately in their own homes."
We in the West like to view mosques as Islamic churches. Yet, they are frequently used to preach hatred and killing in the name of Allah. They are also places where militants can hide, store ammunition, and discuss strategy.    Also you will find that Islamic leaders who cry prejudice and claim that Muslims are unfairly labeled as terrorist also venerate the principles and values of Hamas, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, and the Muslim Brotherhood.
C. Strategy
Consolidation and expansion of radical Islam is frequently accomplished through terrorism. Terrorism is the use of violence and intimidation to compel the people and the government of a country to make certain policy decisions. Terrorist attacks upon the United States, and other western countries are not indiscriminate and done merely to kill; there is a larger purpose: to show the world that even the great United States could not escape the righteous anger of the Islamist ideology and to frighten the American people, causing a loss of confidence in the American government and other institutions.
The objectives of groups such as Al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah are quite clear. They seek to: 1) punish the United States and the West for perceived attacks upon
Muslims worldwide,   2) to secure control over the Middle East and its oil by forcing the withdrawal of Western military forces and cultural influences, and 3) ultimately to establish Islam as the dominant force worldwide by undermining the Western institutions that restrict the ascendancy of radical Islam.

1.    Women
The role of women in Islamic terrorist activity is primarily one of support.    While some areas, such as Israel, have been subjected to suicide bombings perpetrated by some women, the overall level of active participation is very low.   Instead, they are used as motivational tools for the men in their family.    Women who have been indoctrinated into the same ideological system share the convictions of their husbands, sons, and brothers; that jihad is a valid means of achieving honor, both for the individual and the family; and that the Western targets selected pose serious threats to Muslim physical or spiritual security.     While losing a family member in the struggle may be painful, it also gives great honor and prestige to survivors.
The larger role of Islamic women is one of support for men.     Freedom of movement is virtually eliminated, access to education is extremely restricted, and female independence is essentially nonexistent, as women are seamlessly transferred from the authority of father to husband.
2.    Children
Societies that have a strong radical presence have adapted to support the violence in their midst. For example, the Palestinian people memorialize suicide bombers as heroes, placing large posters in public places. Wealthy individuals and leaders such as Saddam Hussein have offered large financial incentives to the families of suicide bombers.    Young men are taught that sacrificing their lives in the jihad will guarantee great rewards in heaven. One of the primary ways in which this cultural transformation occurs is through education. The government-run schools in many countries are inadequate in number and quality to provide a viable challenge to the conservative madrassahs, schools established and directed by religious leaders. Other governments, such as that of Saudi Arabia, have reached agreements with conservative religious sects to promote a particular ideology and so Saudi schools adhere to the wahhabi interpretation of Islam.   Some governments and non-

governmental organizations, many with a radical bent, offer financial and material support to schools in other countries, including Western countries, if those schools adopt approved textbooks and curricula. The result is a cycle in which children of the most impressionable ages are instructed in a dangerous ideology by respected adults and grow into the terrorist actors and sympathizers of tomorrow.
3.    Economy and Financing
Most of the Muslim societies that support terrorist activity are either largely poor or have a drastically unequal distribution of wealth.    Young Muslim men will rarely be allowed to marry unless they have a certain level of financial stability. With few opportunities, they turn to radical groups, where they are surrounded by their peers, instructed in the use of advanced technology, and guaranteed accommodation and food. If they die/their families will receive honor and money, making their younger brothers' and sisters' lives a bit easier. If they live, perhaps they will have garnered enough wealth to marry.
Since the time of Karl Marx, education and sufficient financial means to allow a life of relative leisure have been prerequisites for the leadership of revolutionary groups. Radical Islam is no different.   While many suicide bombers are quite poor, the leaders, including bin Laden, have middle class or wealthy backgrounds. The high-tech nature of many forms of modern terrorism also increases the likelihood that terrorists will be well educated, many having attended college and graduate school. So while it remains easy to find terror recruits in a pool of poorly educated young men with no real opportunity, increasingly terrorism depends upon individuals with great wealth and higher education in order to thrive.
4.    Organization into Para-Military Groups
The threat to the United States from Islamist terrorism is not monolithic. Many different groups exist with similar objectives. For many Americans, the most familiar of these is Al Qaeda. Formed by Osama bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahiri, it was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Other groups, such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, have attempted to enter legitimate political discourse. Others, such as Egyptian Islamic Jihad, have incorporated themselves into larger groups such as Al Qaeda.
It is important when considering terrorist groups to understand the impact of modern communications technology upon organization and hierarchy.    Internet and
satellite television no longer make it necessary for geographically remote individuals with sympathetic beliefs to listen to leaders such as bin Laden in person. Instead, they can form local cells with no formal association with Al Qaeda or other groups to achieve objectives that Al Qaeda may condone, but not actually organize or even know of beforehand. This makes the global terrorist threat extremely amorphous, very dangerous, highly unpredictable and forces analysts to reconsider their traditional views of organization and hierarchy.
5. Terrorist Attacks
Surah 5:51 reads: " Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends. They are but friends and protectors to each other."   Islamic terrorism against Western targets is largely a development of the last three decades.      Following World War II, the countries of the Middle East slowly began to emerge as independent states and many used the ambiguities and uncertainties of the Cold War to develop their economic, educational, and political infrastructures.
With the Iranian Revolution and the establishment of the Ayatollah Khomeini's government, the era of Islamism began with the example of the world's first Islamic republic in 1979 and the seizure that year of 66 American citizens as hostages in the American embassy in Teheran for 444 days.   The subsequent invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviet Union drew many young Muslim men to defend their faith and gave many the military training they would later use against the US and Europe.    Hamas is one of the most violent and highly motivated terrorist groups to emerge from the Islam Brotherhood.   Hamas has cells all over the world, including in the US.    Hamas has become a problem on US soil, deviously creating cells and has partnered with Islamic charitable organizations. Hamas uses American residents, laws, and freedoms to sponsor its activities.    It is interesting to know that the father of the Hamas leader was a friend of Adolph Hitler and Eichmann, devising the concentration camps. He also planned such camps in the Middle East, but the war came to an end. From what I have read, the present leader of Hamas is as committed or more committed to the elimination of not only the Jews, but all infidels.
Assaults upon American targets have been escalating for more than twenty-five years, including the bombings of the American embassy in Beirut, Kenya and Tanzania, the Marine barracks in Beirut,   Pan Am Flight 103, the first World Trade Center bombing, and the assault upon the U.S. Cole.   Terrorists also have a foothold in Kosovo. The explosives used in Madrid, London, US Embassy in Greece, etc.   all
came from the terrorist KLA, Kosovo Liberation Army. Another European Country, which is a haven for terrorists, is Bosnia. The Fort Dix plot, Madrid 2005 and the London tube attacks all were coordinated in Bosnia.    Jim Jatras, Director of the American Council for Kosovoa says:" KLA supporters in the US have operated with virtual impunity, collecting money and weapons to support KLA operations, not only in Kosovo but in neighboring areas of southern Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, and northern Greece.    Bosnia and Kosovo are part of Islam's current divide and conquer approach."
Since 9/11, there have been more than a thousand Islamic terrorists attacks worldwide. If elections are encouraged in places that are prepared and ready for democracy, terrorist's organizations end up ruling the land. Examples:   Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah, in Lebanon, the Mullah in Iran. It has been said that if democratic elections were held in Egypt or in Jordan they would end up with radical Islamic governments.    These all signaled that a new enemy, with new tactics, had appeared.      Most Americans did not realize the gravity of the threat until 9/11, and many still don't. After the American invasion of Iraq in 2003, Al Qaeda connected attacks against European and Jewish targets increased dramatically. And in 2004, Bin Laden issued a 'cultural and moral jihad' against Europe. In Europe, governments are eyeing their Islamic populations warily. As Hussein Mossawi, former leader of Hezbollah put it:" We are not fighting so that you will offer us something. We are fighting to eliminate you."
III. Radical Islam Around the Globe
A. Within Predominantly Muslim Countries

P

There are 57 Islamic states. It would be hard to find even one that comes close to the freedom in Western society founded on the Judeo-Christian foundation.   Even though the people of the Middle East are primarily Muslim, many countries in the region have been targeted by Islamic terrorists. For example, Saudi Arabia is home

to some of Islam's holiest sites and officially sanctions the conservative Wahhabi version of Islam; but numerous terrorist attacks have occurred because of the close relationship between its ruling family and Western governments. Egypt, the home of several leaders of the radical Islam, has also witnessed several devastating attacks, particularly in resort areas with a cosmopolitan air, frequented by foreign tourists.
Understanding radical Islam's violence against fellow Muslims requires understanding two things: (1) The Sunni - Shia antagonism within Islam, and (2) changes in the Islamic countries in the 20th century and the ensuing "Islamic revival". I addressed the Sunni-Shia split earlier. I will be drawing from the writings of Bernard Lewis to address the later item. Professor Lewis is probably the most distinguished Western expert on Islam, he predicts that Europe will be Islamic by the end of this century. Lewis indicates that in the aftermath of W.W.I, and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire lead to a change in the leadership. Lebanon was a mandate of France. But with W.W.II, France and the Vichy government in France, Lebanon was introduced to dictatorship of Nazis. This was followed by communism during the Cold War, which also was dictatorial.   During this period the Baath party and others came into their own. This also applied to other Middle East countries. All these changes from the past led to a revival of Islam. The first was founded by Ihu al Wahhab, know as Wahhabi. They claim that the followers of Islam have abandoned their faith in God, and the teachings of the prophet.   In the mid 1920's things happened. The House of Saud had previously converted to the Wahhabi version of Islam, and controlling Mecca and the annual pilgrimage gave Wahhabism a huge prestige in the Islam world.   The other important thing that happened was the discovery of oil.
The most recent phase in Islamic revival is associated with Al Qaeda, headed by Bin Laden. When Sadam Hussein invaded Kuwait, the government of Saudi Arabia invited "infidel* troops into the country. This led Bin Laden to the decision to take up weapons against the infidels, particularly the Americans. Also, the Saudi cleric Bin Uthaymin issued a fatwa (Islamic religious decree), stating that every Muslim had the duty to fight against this invasion by infidels of Arab soil. Bin Laden took advantage of this fatwa to encourage young people to go to Afghanistan for training. Many Saudi young people responded.   Bin Laden had residence in Sudan by now, and decided to move against the US.   This led to a bomb explosion at a hotel in Aden, in 1992. Then in 1993 two Black Hawk US helicopters were shot down in Somalia.   The US withdrew from Somalia.   In 1996 he moved to Afghanistan. A poll in 11/03 showed over half of the population of Saudi Arabia agreed with bin Laden; while there were al Qaeda terrorist attacks occurring in country. And in Egypt, whose economy is aided by the US, bin Laden is more popular than Bush.
Toward the end of the ^SC^s, the Russians were defeated in Afghanistan by bin Laden and his Islamic forces, who were funded by the Americans. Then came the fall of communism and some 60 million followers of Islam go away from communist control and formed independent states, each of which was ripe for the picking by militant Islam. Currently, as Al Qaeda, sees it, the focus is the ongoing struggle between Islam and Christianity.   They say this started in the 7th century, intensified during the crusades, and in fact it has been an ongoing struggle.   With the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the partition of most of the Middle East between Western Christian nations, this was seen as a final victory of Christianity. But as bin Laden puts it: " In the final phase of the ongoing struggle, the work of the infidels was divided between 2 superpowers, the US and the USSR. Now we have defeated and destroyed the more difficult and most dangerous one of the two.   Dealing with the pampered and effeminate Americans will be easy."   This he follows with a litany of American defeats: Vietnam, Beirut, Somalia, etc. The general theory of Al Qaeda is: "They cannot take it. Hit them, and they will run. Then all you have to do is hit harder. "   During the 1990's there was one attack after another: embassies, warships, barracks. And the only response was angry words or a prompt retreat as in Beirut and Somalia.   9/11 was seen by the perpetrators as the culmination of the expected more of the same; apologies and more talk. Instead the response was vigorous reaction. First in Afghanistan, then in Iraq. Yet, now with so much discourse, debate about pulling out is bringing Al Qaeda and followers back to their previous diagnosis. But remember they have no experience and no understanding of free debate. What we see as free debate they see as weakness. So they prepare for the final victory, the final triumph and the final jihad.
Iran is a powder keg in the Muslim world. According to historian Bernard Lewis, " Iran is a mortal threat, and one also has to take into account the apocalyptic mood of Ahmadinejad and his circle. They clearly believe, and I don't doubt the sincerity of their belief, that we are now entering an apocalyptic age, which will result in the triumph of their messianic figure."
The Mahdi is the 12th Imam, or Islamic Messiah, who Muslims believe will return to judge the earth. Iraq is the birthplace of the Mahdi by Muslim theology. Thus, Iraq is almost as holy to the Muslims as Jerusalem. And the largest players in Iraq, called the "mahdi Army", are followers of the fiery Shiite cleric al-Sadr. Some even think he may be the Mahdi himself.   Sunnis reject the doctrine of the 'hidden' imam, but accept many end-time beliefs. Shia faith has a deep regard for martyrdom, and are more eschatological than Sunnis. Shia's are 10% of the Muslim population. Jewish, Christian and Islamic Religions have similar Eschatological Roots. Islamic eschatology differs from Jewish and Christian beliefs that God gave Israel to the Jews, and that Ishmael was the legal heir to Abraham.
Who is Ahmadinejad ?    He was a member of Revolutionary Guards after the revolution, served in covert operations during the Iran-Iraq war, and earned notoriety as a ruthless interrogator and executioner of political prisoners.   He was elected President in 2005 in a surprising landslide victory. It is reported that he spent no money on his campaign, but was backed by powerful conservatives who mobilized a network of mosques.   He is a devoted religious literalist; one who believes that the goal of the national leader is to ready the world for the reemergence of divine guidance. He publicly predicted that the Mahdi would return in two years. " Our revolution's main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam". He is also close to the Hojjatieh Society, which is governed by the conviction that the 12th Imam's return will be hastened by the creation of chaos on earth.   He believes Israel's 'annihilation' is a necessary part of the 'historic war' between Islam and the West.   Ahmadinejad is out of touch with most ordinary Iranians who, as Shia Persians, rather than Sunni Arabs, are not fixated on the Palestinian issue.
Ahmadinejad claims that he personally has received instructions from the Mahdi. The following prayer at the UN demonstrates his strong belief.     Ahmadinejad's U.N. Prayer 2006: "Today's world, more than ever before, longs for just and righteous people with love for all humanity; and above all longs for the perfect righteous human being and the real savior who has been promised to all peoples and who will establish justice, peace and brotherhood on the planet. [The 12th Imam] 0, Almighty God, all men and women are Your creatures and You have ordained their guidance and salvation. Bestow upon humanity that thirsts for justice, the perfect human being promised to all by You, and make us among his followers and among those who strive for his return and his cause."

B. Within Europe

In Europe, they could not imagine what would happen to them when they opened up their borders 3 generations ago. But today, third generation radicals are overtaking western Europe with a militant, extremist agenda. And Europe serves as a blueprint for the eventual cultural collision planned for America.
I was born in Europe and experienced 5 years of Nazi occupation. About 70% of my
college graduating class emigrated - no jobs. Much of Europe was in ruins after
WWII, and there was no money to rebuild. In 1947 the US Congress passed the
Marshall Plan. By 1948 it started being implemented in Europe; I immigrated to US. -*^U ^ ^
When I returned as an American soldier in early 1951, the change was amazing, and
difficult to really describe. It had changed from cultural pessimism to optimism.
Europe was rebuilding and had a future again. Also, after centuries of war, leaders
of 6 nations formed the EEC, which now comprises 26 nations. The name is changed
to EU. So, from extreme nationalism led to what is called multiculturalism and
political correctness.
Europeans share Western values built on Judeo-Christian traditions, morals, and secular humanism. Yet, now that there are millions of Muslims living among them, this led the EU ( European Union) to increase their alignment with Arab policy which resulted in opposing Israel and the US.   This is expressed through Europe's political, diplomatic, economic and cultural institutions.
A very low birthrate in European communities combines with rapid immigration and growth in Muslim populations makes the Islamic minority an increasingly large and powerful constituency.     Most of these individuals are hardworking and dedicated people, thankful for the prosperity they could not achieve at home, however, a substantial portion of the population takes advantage of the freedoms inherent in a liberal democracy to organize for radical purposes.       While Europe offers a high degree, of freedom, it also adheres to a largely secular political and social standard that religious groups may find frustrating.      The result is a highly volatile situation, in which a vibrant and growing immigrant population uses local freedoms and modern communications technologies to organize for antisocial purposes, under the remote guidance or inspiration of radical leaders in other regions.
There are now at least 40 million, (some say 50 million) Muslims in Europe. Many who fought in Afghanistan and Bosnia came to Europe, seeking asylum or immigrated. They wore traditional clothes and strongly influenced many of the Muslim youth born in Europe. Due to the difference in culture and religion these youth had not assimilated, and became easy recruits.   Most violence and terrorist activities in Europe were committed by Muslim youth born and raised in Europe.   Then there are the converts to Islam; they are often radicals who in the last century would have been Marxists or Nazis; and other converts are drug addicts and thieves seeking structure in their lives and support.
Radical Islam has created and unleashed an uncontrollable wave of hatred and rage on the world. In November 2001, a few months after 9/11, a detailed document was found in a villa in Switzerland by Swiss authorities. This document is referred to as "The Plan", and was dated 12/1/82. It outlined a 100-year plan for radical Islam to infiltrate and dominate the West, and "establish an Islamic government on earth." This plan came from the Muslim Brotherhood, which was created in Egypt in 1928. Some alarming ideas are outlined: incitement of hate and committing violent acts against Jews, Christians and other non-Muslim entities; an acceptance of jihad as a necessary force in establishing a world Islamic Caliphate and implementation of Sharia law throughout the world. "The Plans" intentions have been implemented globally. This document also states 70 terrorists' organizations, with many cells, which are operating throughout the world.
Jihad is in every country in the Western World. Let me illustrate how this is happening in Europe. Jihad may appear peaceful to you now, but its intentions are not. Today the Muslim advance has penetrated deep into Europe. In Brussels, Belgian -police officers are advised not to be seen drinking coffee in public during Ramadan, and in Sweden ambulance drivers will not go into certain areas without police escorts.   Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born Dutch parliamentarian, spoke out against the ill treatment of Muslim women, and found herself under death threat.
Thousands of Afghan Arabs settled in Europe, taking advantage of easy immigration laws and asylum possibilities. London has been home to a vibrant Muslim community for many years, thriving in the political and economic freedoms of the West. In fact, London became the communications center between fundamentalists groups. In recent years, however, members of this community have used their freedom of
speech to advocate increasingly radical policies, hostile to established British institutions. The attacks upon London transit systems in July, 2005 represent the cumulative effect of years of ideological development.    The Islamic cleric, the Mufti for Al-Jihad, Ben Said Imam, has issued a fatwa that individual Muslims could go to Europe, temporarily live among those atheists until Muslim countries are established and sharia law implemented. It is no wonder that in February 2008 the Archbishop of Canterbury said: "The adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the United Kingdom seems unavoidable."

In the Netherlands in early 2004, Theo van Gogh was threatened by fundamentalist Muslims because of the film, "Submission" he was producing.   Part of the film dealt with the abuse of Muslim women.   On 11/2/2004, Van Gogh was killed.   He pleaded with his attackers who shot bullets into him and then cut his throat. The murderer was the son of a Moroccan immigrant. He also attached to the body Van Gogh with a knife a 5 page paper threatening the Somalian politician Ayaan Hirse Ali. Then in 7/7/05, 3 young British Muslims of Pakistan parents caused explosions in London's public transportation system, killing 75 and injuring over 700. The ^^= Hof stadgroup, which has connections all over Europe and has ties to suicide attacks in Casablanca in 2003, as well as the attacks in Madrid. The Dutch police arrested another 13 suspected members of the group.
In 2003 a conservative Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, stated that Yasser Arafat was a terrorist leader.   This drew Internet death threats, which led to the arrest and conviction of a Dutch Muslim who said, " Wilders must be punished with death for his fascistic comments about Islam Muslims and the Palestinian cause." After a report came out that 25 Dutch mosques have terrorist connections CNN asked Wilders: " Why isn't the Dutch government doing something about this? His answer, "Because they are incompetent." He further stated,   " We will lose our country, it's as simple as that. The Dutch people have been too long too tolerant to the intolerant." After the Van Gogh murder, recently Wilder's rating^he polls jumped by 20%.   Wilders has 24-hour guard protection, even during his recent visit to the US. While in the US, he told a journalist of the Washington Times he was afraid, yet it wouldn't stop him from speaking boldly in public.   Wilders is not a crank or racist, but a decent, civilized family-man.
In France, after an investigation of 61 schools it was learned that young Muslims look up to Muslim "big brother'. Muslim students refuse to sing, dance, participate in sports, play an instrument (none of which is against the Quran or conservative Muslim teaching), but this is pushed by radical Muslims. They refuse to eat school cafeteria food since it is not prepared according to Sharia Law. They refuse to draw right angles in math because it looks like a Christian cross. They refuse to swim because they do not want to be polluted by" infidel's water". They refuse to read certain French authors, because they promoted women's rights. And many refuse to learn English, because it is the language of imperialism. Muslim girls are increasingly under surveillance by boys, often younger brothers. And Muslim boys wanting to learn French were threatened. Even in primary schools, toilets were reserved for Muslims, others for the French. Some British banks now advertise compliance with rules governing Islamic banking. In Denmark the Quran is required reading for high school students; the Bible is not. And in England piggy banks are now banned, also toy pigs, novelty pig calendars, and all pig related items. Puzzling?
Muslim extremists on the Internet and in mosques openly call for jihad against Europe and the US.    In May 2005 radical Islamists gathered in front of the American embassy in London, burning British and American flags, chanting. " USA watch your back - Osama is coming back, and kill, kill, USA, kill, kill, George Bush" and "Your so-called democracy will fall under the sword of Allah. The day of judgment is coming."
The problem of Islamic infiltration is also plaguing Russia. It is estimated that Muslims account for up to 16% of the population. Fifteen years ago Russia had about 300 mosques. Today there are at least 8000.
With the economies booming from the 1950's on, there was not enough of a local labor force which opened the door to guest workers, mostly coming from Muslim countries.   It was assumed that these would integrate into the societies in which they lived as had happened in the past. Living in their own segregated communities, they were ruled by the Imams. Many of these leaders preached contempt for European democracy, for the equal role of women in society and denounced separation of church and state. An Imam in Germany in 2004 preached: " These Germans are atheists! Hell lives for the infidels.!   Down with all democracies and all democrats". And that same year an Imam in Copenhagen stated:" secularism is a disgusting form of oppression ... No Muslim can accept secularism, freedom and democracy. It is for Allah alone to legislate how society should be regulated. Muslims wish and long for Allah's law to replace the law of man?'Muslim textbooks used in Germany teach that: " The Muslim's people existence has been threatened by Jews and Christians since the Crusades, and it is the first duty of every Muslim to prepare to fight against the enemies."
Under the immigration laws of most European countries, if you are a citizen or a permanent resident, your foreign spouse, children, and in some cases other family members may enter the country and live with you. Many immigrant communities, through a pragmatic twist on the traditions of arranged marriage, have exploited this brilliantly. In several countries they can legally have 4 wives.
In 2001 Iran passed a law lowering the legal marrying age for females from 12 to 9 years of age.   The typical Muslim girl in Western Europe lives with the probability that some day she will be compelled to marry an imported husband. If she refuses and disobeys her parents (father's ) choice, she has damaged the family's honor, which calls for 'honor' killing.   The contempt Islam holds toward women is best illustrated through the time-honored practice of honor killings. Any woman's or girl's perceived transgression against the teachings of Islam or against a man's wishes, or behavior that insults a man, permits a male member of a family to murder the female to avenge and restore honor to the family in the eyes of society.     In January 2008, 2 sisters were brutally murdered by their Egyptian father in an honor killing in Dallas, Texas. Their crime was wanting to adopt a more typically American teenage lifestyle.   In 2004 Britain's public prosecutors began investigating 117 suspicious deaths and disappearances to determine if honor killings had taken place.   Over a 6-month period in the Hague alone 2004-2005,11 women were victims of honor killings.    Some say that honor killing is a cultural practice in the Middle East that it has nothing to do with Islam.   Then why don't we see Christian and Jewish Arabs murdering their daughters?    What makes these murders different from others that take place every day in the West, is that many members of the perpetrator's subculture consider them defensible.   It is impossible to bridge the gap between a western mindset and one that makes 'honor killing' possible.   In the matter of wife beating - if it is an ethnic European, the police know what to do, with Muslims they usually see it as a cultural phenomena that they do not have the right to intrude upon. In 2004,4 of 5 residents in Oslo's main crisis center seeking shelter were Muslim women who fled from their husbands because they were beaten and raped by them. But a British Muslim stated in the Guardian that the shelters "tear apart our families."
In Norway it was reported that in 2001 "nonwestern immigrants" committed 65% of rapes.     In Linz, /Austria, Muslims are demanding that all female teachers wear headscarves in class. In Seattle, introduced gender -separate, Muslim only swimming sessions in municipal pools.
C. Within the United States
Today, the United States is the primary center of cultural, economic, political, and military power in the world.     An attack upon the United States or its interests abroad represents a symbolic victory for terrorists, who often romantically portray themselves as lone fighters, willing to sacrifice their lives to inflict pain upon a looming giant. Terrorists, cleverly disguised behind the freedoms they enjoy, are living among us. An old Arabian proverb says," If the camel gets his nose in the tent, his body will soon follow."
Omar Ahmad, the Palestinian American chairman and cof ounder of CAIR, speaking in California to a Muslim audience: "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant.   The Quran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth."   Islamic leaders make maximum use of the civil, religious and political freedoms, and it seems to be working.

.,
Many terrorists look at America as rich in military might, rich in material possessions, but poor in spiritual wealth.   Our military is on the ground in Iraq, Afghanistan, and throughout the Arabian Peninsula.   Our government preserves long-term relationships with despised Middle Eastern regimes, such as in Saudi Arabia. Thus the United States presence is felt more acutely than any other nation's presence. Our television shows, music, and movies are available to anyone with a satellite dish.   They view our culture is debased, as evidenced in our entertainment, and think we lack the will to win a long-term struggle.   The examples of Vietnam and particularly Mogadishu illustrate the vulnerability of the American military to bad public relations.   Therefore, Islamic terrorists believe that enough assaults upon American interests, domestically and abroad, will so erode America's will that we will withdraw our forces from Muslim lands and allow the creation of Islamic states, free from American money, cultural content, and diplomatic influence.
Al Qaeda is unique in the history of radical organizations.   It operates worldwide, and has the possibility to organize millions of Muslims worldwide. Also, its strategy is long-term. The West should never underestimate those committed to radical Islam; they are well educated and well informed.
We know that the aim of Al Qaeda is to bring down the US and our allies. They expect to accomplish it from inside the countries. In their opinion this is close to being achieved in Europe. Everything points to the fact that Al Qaeda continues to grow in strength. While spreading the Islamic message there are no physical or geographic boundaries since the Internet provides access to training guides, radical ideology and long term strategies.
The AI Qaeda strategy up to 2020 is:
persuade the "American Elephant' to attack Muslim countries.
use this as propaganda to turn Muslims against the west.
drag the wars out in order to wear the West out. American and British troops
will be totally unprepared for a major counter attack of the Taliban.
use ideological war to set up new cells
American economic system will bankrupt. When America collapses, Al Qaeda
leaders will be ready to take over.
In May 2002 Cal Thomas observed:" Our enemies have used our best character qualities against us - tolerance, inclusion, forgiveness and pluralism. They believe in none of these concepts and think anyone who does is an enemy of their god."
Radical Muslims exploit the liberties of Americans, and if they ever would be in control would abolish those liberties.   One of America's greatest strengths is the openness of its society.   Unfortunately, we also tend to believe the rest of the world operates in the same way, leaving ourselves vulnerable to subversive attacks within the structures of our own legal and cultural systems.   Radical Muslims understand their adversary well. In our democracy we want to preserve our rights and liberties; viewed thru the concept of political correctness.    Many in the West fail to really
understand that Islam is a political and religious ideology.   9/11 brought the reality home in the U.S. and throughout Western civilization.   But then it became history.

Because of the rise of Muslim immigration to the US the number of Islamic schools has increased to some 600 schools, teaching some 50,000 students. The schools, as well as the religious material, are supplied by the Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia. The Saudis are buying their way into universities and public schools to establish Middle Eastern study programs (Surah 8:39 reads:" So, fight them till all opposition ends and the only religion is Islam.") An example is the Islamic Saudi Academy referred to as a typical Virginia high school. Its classes are based on the curriculum syllabus, and materials established by the Saudi Ministry of Education.   There is no room for American history; instead, the school concentrates on Wahhabi history, Islamic culture, and language.   American taxpayers money are also used in these schools: in 2003 the Islamic Academy of Florida, a private school grade 1-12, received $350,000 of taxpayer funded school vouchers to help underprivileged children.   The Saudis also fund programs to help Muslim parents give their children a grounding in the Islamic faith, thru formed evening classes, weekend school, holiday camps, etc. On college campuses the MSA ( Muslim Student Association) are politically very active. Frequently discussion in colleges has been stifled when deemed insensitive to Muslim feelings.

The Bureau of Islamic and Arabic Education website has a new twist to the US Pledge of Allegiance: " As an American Muslim, I pledge alliance to Allah and his Prophet." Also the web site www.dawanet.com   includes a section called   "How to Make America an Islamic Nation."
The United States has a much higher standard of free speech protection than most of the world and also fiercely protects individual privacy.   The radical Islam strategy leans on American free speech and its laws against discrimination to both grow its presence in the United States and mobilize powerful resistance to any individual in a public forum who questions its motives.
A major means of infiltrating American society is through the legal system.    The following examples represent the misapplication of laws.   Groups with financial or ideological ties to radical organizations have threatened legal action against writers and broadcasters critical of the radical Islamic movement.    Though non-violent radicalism takes many forms, one of the most dangerous forms is the effort to stifle free speech through the use of foreign defamation lawsuits.   " Libel tourism" is a threat to America's robust free-speech traditions, which protect authors here.   If foreign libel judgments can be enforced in American courts, writers will only have as much protection as the least pro-free-speech nations allow.   A case in point is Rachel Ehrenfeld, author of Funding Evil: How Terrorism is Financed and How to Stop It, in which she documents major funding sources of Al Qaeda. Her book was sold in America, and via the Internet copies were sold in the U.K. The British courts ruled against her right to do so. Thus," The Free Speech Protection Act of 2008" aka" Rachel's Law" is currently in the US Congress pending approval.     In order to win the global war on terror, it is critical that authors are free to disseminate truthful information on terrorism-related issues to intelligence and counter-terrorism professionals, as well as to the public.
The U S must not forsake the ideal of a society committed to the equal application of the law to all individuals, no matter their cultural or racial background.   We must be mindful that this dedication also represents one of many points upon which radical Islamist may prey in their quest to manipulate and damage American courage and will.
Since the end of WW II there has been a proliferation of anti-Americanism.   The causes are complex, but certainly include the skillful manipulation of public perception by terrorist groups and their sympathetic allies. Whatever the source of anti-Americanism, its effects are advantageous for terrorist groups.    It makes it more difficult for the US to win support for overseas policies.
D. South America: Region
Shifting attention to South America, the international police and American diplomats made this statement: "The communities on the triple border of Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina are hideouts for terrorists who are poised to wrack havoc on South America and the rest of the world. Asa Hutchinson of the US Drug Enforcement Administration remarked that "the two major terrorist organizations in the tri-border area are Hezbollah and the Islam resistance movement known as Hamas."
IV. Current Political Responses from the West

Following 9/11, the U S launched a large scale, multidimensional global war against terrorism. This war includes military, diplomatic, and intelligence efforts that transcend America's shores to include operations across the world.     The American struggle to defeat Islamist terrorism has made great progress, damaging terrorist organizations and capabilities on an international level. But a number of obstacles exist that could derail America's effort. Let's explore some things the U S has done since 9/11 seem quite counter-productive to its own defense against radical Islam. Under the Muslim outreach program, instituted after 9/11, Muslims were hired in every branch of our government. Political correctness in the Pentagon is deceiving our military leaders.   This reached such a level, that Stephen Coughlin, the most authoritative Pentagon specialist on Islamic Law, and extremism, was fired in January 2008. The Reason?   Hasham Islam, a key Muslim aide in the Office of Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England, was offended by Coughlin's writings about militant Islam and confronted him to soften his view on Islamic extremism.   Coughlin was one of few people within our government who had the moral clarity to identify the enemy and devise a plan to defeat it.   When news of his firing was made public, support for Coughlin came roaring to his side, especially from members of the military who deal with terrorists first hand.   In a letter to the editor of the Washington Times, Lt. Col. Lance Landeche from the Marine Corps, said: " Though I cannot assess the value of Mr. Coughlin to those inside the Beltway, outside the Beltway and on the front lines of this struggle, his understanding of the relationship between Islamic law and Islamist jihad doctrine is invaluable. Mr. Coughlin's thesis, written for the National Defense Intelligence College," To Our Great Detriment: Ignoring What Extremists Say about Jihad", is quickly becoming a must-read among my peers. Unfortunately, soon Mr. Coughlin will no longer be available to help us understand Islamic jihad, and we will again find ourselves at a severe, disadvantage in this ideological struggle. I only wish more of my taxpayer dollars could be spent on such invaluable contracts that directly support those out in front."
In another situation it appears the FBI was intimidated into political correct behavior that may endanger our security. After the 9/11 attacks, Sibel Dinez Edmonds, a former translator for the FBI, found ethnic Arab translators celebrating in the office.   Her supervisor, an ethnic Arab, instructed her and the rest of the staff to work slowly, and let untranslated intercepts pile up. The supervisor was promoted to run the Arab desk, and the FBI instituted a bureau-wide Muslim sensitivity training for all agents. Numerous other examples, where political correctness seems to have trumped better judgment, could be offered but with time constraints a factor I will proceed to other details.

Radical Islam is a danger to the West and to moderate Muslims.     Surah 9'-5 reads:" Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war." Even though the majority of Muslims are peaceful, they are intimidated and do not want to go against the Quran. We must remember that most Germans were moderate as well, but it did not stop the Nazis from killing millions. The same goes for Russian communists. Their membership was about 8% of the population. Many scholars after 9/11 define the Western heritage as not the Judeo-Christian tradition, but as the Judeo-Christian-Islamic tradition.
Many experts estimate the likelihood of an attack upon the United States using a weapon of mass destruction in the next ten years to be nearly seventy percent. The American people must realize this danger and continue to demand vigilance from their lawmakers in the face of the continuing threat.      The Mounties, the FBI, Scotland Yard, and others are reasonably efficient at breaking up cells and plots, but
they are the symptoms, not the issue. The ideology has to be dismantled as taught through schools and mosques.
In 1995 terrorist expert Steven Emerson produced a film Jihad in America, which exposed the worldwide network of Islamic terrorist organizations. No one took Emerson's film seriously. Two days before 9/11, Steve Emerson was invited as a keynote speaker. Members of the community were upset that "Mr. Gloom and Doom" had been invited. The person who threw the biggest fit was shaking 2 days later as his daughter who worked in the World Trade Center barely escaped with her life. Does it have to take such a tragedy to knock us out of our apathy? And Emerson is now one of the most hated men in the Islamic world, and lives under the constant threat of assassination. And in England after the London Tube bombings, Father Paul Hawkins of St. Pancreas Parish Church told his congregation that Sunday," There are no Muslim terrorists - there are terrorists."
The Council on American-Islamic Relations ( CAIR) in the US in 2000 had a membership over 29,000, and a budget of $732,000. By 2007, the membership had dropped below 1700 (after 9/11) and the budget to less than $59,000. The leadership was asked to purge the organization of radical members. This was refused.
Imams in Europe are preaching that in this century Europe will be ruled by Muslim law - Sharia.     Europe is the birthplace of Western civilization.   If Europe were Islamif fed, it would be a great threat to America. Thus Eurabia and Amerabia ? This is written about in a recent book: Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis. Europeans do not stress integration like we do, but more importantly a growing belief among Muslims is that it is their religious duty not to integrate.   Speakers and writers pointing this out often get a whispered "thank you" from moderate Muslims, who also say they cannot be vocal, they fear 'persecution'".
In November 2004, 61% of British Muslims wanted sharia law applied to Muslims living in England. Also, in Europe the support for integration has dropped to 30% among Muslims. In November 2004, a German TV station broadcast the image and words of a Turkish imam living in Germany urging his Bavarian congregation "to take advantage of the democracy to further our cause".
In Norway Zahid Mukhtar, speaking for the Islamic council of Norway - " I can understand why someone would murder Van Gogh." And when he spoke in Canada he concluded that"... if you are not radical, you are not a good Muslim." This sounds
familiar to the argument in Germany in the 1920's and 1930*5 - if you are not a Nazi, you were not a good German. In 2004 Michael Scheuer in the US wrote in his book:" Americans, particularly the elite's, refuse to grasp .. .that their country is engaged in a war to the death with an enemy who has warned us of his every move and intention. Whatever comes next, whatever disaster befalls us, our children and our country, we were warned and chose not to fight to our utmost." ( Mein Kamph). And Ralph Peters said in his book Fighting for the Future: Will America Triumph? :" US Soldiers are unprepared for the absolute mercilessness of which modern warriors are capable, and they are discouraged or prohibited by their civilian masters and their own customs from taking the kind of measures that might be effective against members of the warrior class."
In Washington DC each year the American Enterprise Institute invites hundreds of guest to dinner. Yet, nobody gets to eat until they have listened to an hour-long lecture.   Sometimes that gets boring, but not in 2006.   The eminent 90+ year old British historian, Bernard Lewis was the speaker. He was told he had 1 hour. Now, after listening to a speech for an hour who wants to listen to more, not even in church. On this occasion the audience begged for more. In fact, in the West not many people knew about Bernard Lewis. That changed after 9/11, when the West woke up to its ignorance.   His books became important, including; What Went Wrong. This book deals with the fall of the Ottoman Empire after WW1, when Muslim humiliation became total. When the question came up:" Who did this to us? " blame was variously assigned to the Mongols, the Turks, then the French and the British, and now Israel and the USA. Mr. Lewis says: " What is needed today is charity in recognizing issues and alignments, firmness and determination in defining and applying policy." Are we (the West) listening?    He points out a chilling difference about the Muslim struggle and the West. "The Muslims bring fervor and conviction to the struggle; we don't. The Muslims are self-assured, we answer with self-denigration and self-debasement.   Muslims prize loyalty, and discipline; we prize politically correct multiculturalism," Dr. Lewis worries, whether there will be an "Islamized Europe" or a "European! zed Islam". The assets of the west are freedom and the unfettered pursuit of knowledge.   He hopes that eventually the Muslims will find these things appealing. But it is only hope.
Quality Professors of Middle Eastern studies could be very helpful; if they would give a balanced presentation of Islam, including the threat of radical Islam. At many universities, the departments of Middle Eastern Studies are influenced heavily by radicals and ideologues, with many sympathetic to the PLO.
The question can be asked;" Can America win its 'long war'? Well, if America can't, nobody else in the developed world can. When Zacarias Moassaoui, the ' 20th hijacker' was sentenced to life imprisonment, his comment was:" America, you lose." Or do we follow Winston Churchill: " we will never surrender". This war will ultimately be won on the cultural front. Looking at Europe, there the war may already be lost.
The present jihad is an international problem and effects the basis of Western Civilization. The threat of Islamic terrorism has already cost the civilized world billions of dollars in security provisions and by the damage and destruction already caused. These people see this war in terms of decades, not years.    They must be stopped because it is totalitarian, and more dangerous than nazism or communism. Those where human ideologies. The "Islamofascists" are doing this in a religious ideology, in the name of Allah.   The first choice of Islamist is to kill Americans and Jews; and our enemies wear no uniform.
"The Price of Liberty is Eternal Vigilance," Sir Winston Churchill
The END!!!
Professor Akhar Ahmed, on the faculty of Harvard, Princeton, Cambridge, Chair of Islamic Studies. He was a humanist committed to educate and reason," This will teach man how to live together".   He took 3 students on a 6 month journey through Islam countries. He reported that: 50% want Sharia law worldwide; a majority supported the Bali (Indonesia) bombing, opposed women in polities' and stoning adulteress women to death.   He then concludes that the moderate view is in hopeless retreat, and ends by stating:" let us pray."

yep, it's pretty disturbing and easily seen in the actions of many
groups. islam is a cancer much like christianity during it's violent
phase. the big difference is that christians did not have nuclear
weapons available during theirs.
