Speculation on Kwame's return if the price was right. Makes some sense from a needs stand point (basically muscle and D) ... but I just get the feeling that Kwame's attitude was never very good for the team chemistry.
The more interesting part (to me) was the on-going sibling feud between Jim and Jeannie. If that's even half true, it sounds like an ugly situation. I certainly hope the influence on Bynum isn't as strong as it sounds ... he's a little hard to "read" because he's so young ... but his commitment and attitude certainly seemed good last year before he got hurt.

As much as I've ripped him, he actually makes some sense here at vet min or a little over. He can still defend the post and knows the system, he works for 10 minutes a game or so.
Yes, he sucks, but my problem with him was always his contract - paying a $2M guy $9M just sucks.
No other comment, except that if Jimmy keeps bugging Jeannie I just might have to fly out there and kick his ass to save Phil the hip stress.

Bah, I don't want him back. He, sadly, is a bust as a NBA player. He needs to retire and enjoy the millions he has. The Lakers need someone who can acutally contribute. Also, no one should pay him more than league minimum, he isnt even worth that IMO.

Interesting & entertaining (at least for us non-Lakers fans) article, thanks. A couple of observations from the peanut gallery:
1. If Jimmy & Jeannie are really competing for daddy's love, maybe they should try dressing up like 16-year-old cheerleaders & show up at home with a bottle & some weed. My money would be on Jeannie. : )
2. More seriously, if Jimmy is really giving Bynum the idea that the kid is somehow superior to the rest of the team just because he's Jimmy's favorite, he is setting your team up for some real problems down the road. I know it's LA & soap opera-90210-type stuff is considered normal, but the last thing any pro sports team needs is someone in management making the work environment more dicey than it usually is already.
3. If PJ likes Farmar, Jerry the Lush should have the good sense to stay drunk & hit on underage girls & leave his HC to make that decision. Of course, we all know that good owners are few & far between & they seldom are the ones who end up on Perez Hilton.com on a regular basis.
All this does need to be taken with a grain or two of salt as the source has the word "hype" in it's name, but if even half of that stuff is true, it could be a trying season ahead for LA fans.
Phil Jackson just weiged in" Kwame Brown was a lazy worthless piece of dogdirt, I don't want him back under any conditions, he used to keep me awake at nite, why oh why did we ever trade for this goldbricking Sonovabitch?"

Chemistry is only a factor if Kwame is in or somewhere near the starting line up. If he's buried underneath several other players on the depth chart, and brought out only for limited and specific purposes, he's unlikely to affect chemistry much. You never heard about DJ Mbenga or Ira Newble having much impact on the team chemistry, after all.
Moreover, disappointing player though he was, Kwame was well-liked in the locker room. His being their wouldn't hurt team morale in any way.

Now that we've lost Turiaf, if we could get Kwame for the vet's min and still keep everyone else (including Mihm), I say go for it. But I suspect there's some other team out there willing to give Kwame more than the min.

I had the feeling for months he would come back. 1st off nobody would want him. He couldn't even get tick in Memphis. 2nd he knows the triangle. Now 3rd Ronny is gone so a big is needed, since Kurt Thomas didn't get picked up by Jimmy/Cupcake (mistake) who else would be much better on the cheap? I also think Phil liked him.
