It's very troubling to hear the comments coming right from the top, Army Chief of Staff, General George Casey Jr. - His concerns about how this shooting might affect Army diversity efforts. - His concern about a possible backlash against Muslim soldiers. - His speculation about the need for increased force protection and security, i.e. Protecting the troops against themselves.
Organizations like rotting fish stink from the top and Casey's comments have that stench of Political Correctness about them. There were huge, unmistakable signs that this Hasan guy was a threat to the Army. Formal reports were quashed because officer's were evidently concerned about their careers surviving in this PC ''Diversity First'' Army of ours. Yes diversity is important, but the Army has higher priorities like protecting its personnel from obvious, well known threats.
Again, organizations stink from the head. - I think the families of the victims have grounds for lawsuits against the Army for negligence. - Moreover, IMO General Casey's resignation/termination should be on the table for serious consideration.

This isn't rocket science, folks. Most plausible explanation I heard was that Army is embarrassed about obvious breach of security protocol in favor of political correctness. They don't want to admit it until they must.
