Bunnymen cancel US tour over tax demand

Saturday, November 7 2009, 1:44pm EST
By Sarah Rollo, Entertainment Reporter

Echo & The Bunnymen have made a last minute decision to cancel their
US tour due to "unreasonable" tax demands.

A statement on the band's website said that it was with the "deepest
regret" that they have called off the November jaunt.

"This is due to unreasonable demands presented by the IRS for the band
to enter the USA to tour," it read.

The group were scheduled to perform on November 15 in Atlanta, GA.
America's Internal Revenue Service demand that bands pay a fee to tour
in the country more than once within 30 days.

The rockers, who played in New York last month, are now planning more
shows in the US for next April.
