Same with My Maps, input the address or Lat/Lng (latitude/longitude)
settings from Google Earth then hit Search Maps.

You can easily manipulate those indeed. I also use the GEOMETRY fields, its
a bit hard to wrap your head around at first. One thing to remember is that
almost all calculations done by the database use MBR, this is a rectangle
around the geometry.

Some handy functions:

Please excuse any elementary questions I may have, I'm still quite new at

I'm trying to create a map by putting a marker at a specific address. In
Google Earth, all I do is click 'fly to' and then type in the address and it
takes me to the exact location.
In My Maps, I can't seem to find that function. Not knowing exactly where

Is it possible to pass a sensor value back to Google after the Maps JS

You might possibly have missed "*" which goes part of the way to
addressing this issue. It doesn't help with Brisbane but it does help
with Johannesburg.
At present, the API geocoder returns the "Johannesburg" in Michigan, but
"Johannesburg *" returns a list of possible results: South Africa,
Michigan, Wisconsin, Norway and California.

also a lot of SSI things missing, cos that link is dynamic, and has

Those look like business names, rather than addresses. The API Geocoder
doesn't do business name lookups. Try using Google AJAX Local Search.

One way would be to store the HTML in a marker Property rather than
holding it with Function Closure.

If that was the problem, then there's a bug in the key validation
system. Registering orangeblossombeekeepers.com is supposed to be valid
for all subdomains of orangeblossombeekeepers.com.

I suspect that the problem is that for most HTML Elements, the "name"
and "id" attributes are aliases for the same underlying property. [There
are two names for the same attribute because the concept was developed
independently by IE and Netscape, and neither side would back down when
the standards were negotiated.]
