So apparently Gmail has screwed up something but if you turn off your
primary STMP account and use the ROGERS or FIDO STMP Account, you can
then send emails. This is weird though, I hope Gmail fixes everything
on their end soon.

I am having this same problem on my iPhone2G! it started after the
2.1firmware update. (it worked before that) I have gone over the
settings a hundred times and can not get it to work! :(

Do not rely on Outlook Test Account Settings. The test sometimes does
not work with SSL security, which Gmail uses. Run your own send and
receive test messages. If fail, post the entire error message here.

Using WindowsXP up to date. Have setup one gmail account to go to
Outlook Express. It works fine. Tried to setup another gmail to

There are some emails in queue being forwarded. Once the queue is
finished, you will not receive forwarded mail.

Can someone at Google write up a spec doc on the commands that should
be issued against your IMAP folder for successful use of your system?

I.e. I'm looking at the inbox folder in google imap, and the messages
are there, and I get replied and seen status by issuing the following:

a1 UID FETCH 1:99 FLAGS

I have the same issues with my iPhone and Outlook when it is using
IMAP.

outlook tells me:

"Your IMAP server closed the connection. This can occur if you leave
the connection idle too long"

I get the same message as you with my iPhone.

I can access Gmail from the web browser without issues.

The same thing is happening to me. Outlook 2003 POP3 will not connect
to Gmail SMTP any longer. Did Google remove this feature?
