I have FINALLY realized my long standing problem of email mot sent

The reply-to address is corrupted! This occurred regularly for this

Hi all, seems to be working again here in South Africa. Hopefully

i rebooted my iphone (home key + lock key) and when it came back the
emails sitting in my outbox were all sent... no idea if it was just
coincidental or not. right before rebooting the invalid sender message
was still popping up. seems to work now.

i'm on AT&T.

Barry from Winnipeg here. Same issue started yesterday "sender email
not valid". iPhone 3G on Rogers. Tried deleting email account and
creating new, didn't work. Tried the shutting off the gmail smtp and
turning on the Rogers smtp, worked but no record of sent email. Then
tired this solution and so far everything works fine. Thanks

Jesse is right...it works and what I posted has nothing to do with the
issue. Just an alternate way of setting up your email on the iPhone

Unfortunately, that has nothing to do with it. All Apple had you do
was recreate the account as a generic IMAP account, which is something
several people in this thread have already tried, and in fact is the
way my own iPhone is normally configured, since I sync my account
settings from Mail.app (which doesn't know the difference between a

Okay I just got off the phone with Apple and this what they told me to
do.

1) Go Settings
2) Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3) Delete your gmail account on the iPhone
4) Add Account
5) Choose 'Other'
6) Fill out Name, Address, Password, Description(not required but
should fill automatically anyways) and click Save

Ditto here.... My last set of test messages went out about 5m ago.
Then again, I had the same thing happen at 5pm as well...

Hmmm, now it's suddenly working again?! (6:45pm Mountain Time). Was
startled to hear the "sent mail" sound from the iPhone. But sure
enough, all my message that were waiting in the Outbox had been sent.
Lets see how long it lasts before it goes down again...

It's unlikely those two things would be related. In reality, Google
is always making little changes on the back-end behind the scenes....
There are Firefox plug-ins such as Better GMail and Remember The Milk
that break somewhat regularly due to these types of changes, even when
no front-end changes are apparent.

The only thing I can think of that has changed for me regarding the
last few days. Is that Gmail now offered those new Theme-ing features
among other things I'm sure in the new gmail webmail area. Could those
changes been pushed along with some other service affective ones?

Ditto on the problem and that I live in Toronto, Canada.
I've tried over Wifi that is using Rogers network and also no dice.

Same problem here.... Fido Toronto with gmail.... sometimes it sends
sometimes it doesn't. Doesn't matter if it's over 3g or wifi.

Have you check see if you might have set up a reply to address on your
Hotmail to a gmail address.
