I'm really excited to announce the launch of Gmail voice and video
chat. Gmail now lets you make video or voice calls to your friends
right from your inbox! All you need is a webcam (for video calls), a
microphone, and speakers. So, download the plug-in and check it out!

New Feature: Emoticons in Gmail

We're excited to announce a whole new addition to your emailing fun.
Gmail now has a full set of emoticons that you can insert into any
message you write. Make sure you're in rich formatting mode and click
the face that appears in the formatting menu to see what's available.

Update - engineers have pinpointed the issue causing the 502 errors
and it looks as if users should start to regain normal functioning of
their account. Thanks for being patient while we worked to sort out
